Job Summary   :

The job purpose of tis role is to be responsible for effective and efficient management of the Legal function, provision of legal advisory services and ensuring effective management of legal and contractual risks for the VR Portfolio.

Illustrative Responsibilities   :

Contract Negotiation & Documentation

  • Drafting and Negotiation of legal contracts
  • Advise on contract status, legal risks and business terms of various deals
  • Ensuring proper contract stamping and registration of all the agreements including all execution formalities
  • Monitoring the lifecycle of all the contracts
  • Prepare weekly reports on status of the pending works
  • Exercising judgment in prioritizing and escalating legal contract issues as necessary while interfacing with senior management.

Litigation Management

  • Review progress of outstanding litigation and liaise with and manage external lawyers.
  • Perform pre-litigation work to minimize risks and maximize legal rights


  • Liaising with the government and semi-government bodies, judicial and semi-judicial bodies for ensuring compliance.
  • Ensuring Statutory Compliance and adherence to rules & regulations laid down under various Acts and Regulations.

Relationship Management & Self Development

  • Supporting the operations team to deal with day to day legal issues at the stores and resolve problems with minimum brand and risk exposure.
  • Maintain effective relationship with government and other agencies for necessary statutory compliance
  • Keep abreast of legislative changes that may affect the company and its affiliates
  • Ensure timely updation of the required skills.

Required Qualification   :
  • LLB / LLM with minimum 10 years of relevant experience
